The Career Woman's Guide to Hosiery

Hosiery
For a career working woman, Nothing makes a day by day work routine greater than being told that her fashion options are more than sufficient. No matter what your intentions are, to dress in a professional manner, to turn heads or to make a fashion statement, selecting  the appropriate hosiery to combine with your work attire could assist in reaching your objectives. Tights are remarkable leg warmers for cold weather, and on the other hand they could actually be worn during all of the seasons as there are so many colors and styles on hand.

The following suggestions will give you a hand in choosing the right hosiery for you that are fashionable and comfortable to adapt to your style.

The Issue of Fitness and Comfort

A career woman has to pay attention to the way hosiery
fit and comfort they give. For those seeking supportive tights, the best thing to do is choose control top. The reason for this is that these fit tightly at the stomach and waist ensuring the best support for your hips and lower back. They also aid in hiding some of that undesired belly fat. Make sure you purchase control top tights that are not too restricting at the stomach, since they could give pain and discomfort during the long work hours. Regular tights should fit with ease at the stomach area, but do not give the extra support of control top. Don't forget you can find tights that support your legs, feet and ankles too if you are on your feet for long periods of time. Conversely, if you do a lot of sitting at the desk or walking, the right kind of tights to purchase are those that give flexibility in any position of your legs and feet.

What's more, you'll also have stockings that are supported at the knees or thighs, or held with a garter. Knee-highs or thigh-highs and holdups usually work well when wearing pants and long skirts to the office. You can also purchase footless tights or leggings that fit just over the ankle or below the knee.

It's a Question of Opaqueness instead of Sheer Tights

When it is cold outside and inside too, opaque or thicker hosiery for wintertime warmth and durability is the best option. Sheer tights tend to give some support but has no color. They give the resemblance of bare legs, and are more often than not very thin. Moreover, sheer tights are liable to snag or easily get runs, so I suggest you choose your brand wisely and at all times keep a back-up pair with you in your drawer or purse!

A Mix of Tights and Colors

According to hosiery tradition, office women are supposed to wear tights that are black, white or tan. On the contrary, the working woman nowadays are allowed to mix or match a vast selection of colorful tights to create the desired look and feel.  These are available in many color blends with red, yellow, blue, green, brown and orange. There are multiple colors on hand at the moment, and these come in fabulous solid colors such as blue, cobalt, yellow, green, lily, fuchsia, purple, white, and red. For those women who want to be different, you could purchase zebra or leopard prints, floral or striped prints not to say lace-up tights.

When considering styles of  hosiery, the most popular are silk, wool, seamless tights, ultra sheer, wedding tights, fashion tights, sandal toe, full figure tights, and seamed tights. You can also compare brands according to style, durability and comfort. I suggest purchasing only one pair each from several manufacturers to ensure the tights will be what you are looking for.

The bottom line is,  shop online to find inexpensive tights and hosiery that come in many colors.
Try to enrich your fashion hosiery knowledge with tights that will make your fellow workers say, "cool!"

When I was younger and working, the most I'd pay for a pair of pantyhose was .75 a leg. Now, after years at home raising my kids, I'm back on the job market and just this week picked up the first pair I've bought in years. $6! and that was a cheap pair.
