Now that it is getting cold and it is snowing heavily in some parts of the world, the winter season is truly tempting us women to take the thick winter fleece clothing out of the closet and coating up. The Winter Collections are adorned with various pantyhose styles along with the clothes and shoes. Until recently the pantyhose were the item that was required for all occasions being the normal item of clothing. The previous seasons the designers made the pantyhose into something really unique and stylish.
The pantyhose of the most bright colors, unique prints with fancy elements and embroidery seem to be in fashion forever. The hosiery of all colors of the last year's pantyhose fashion rainbow seized the hearts and mind of women, from extravagant designers to classic brands that could not resist to the bright and flamboyant colors of the new fashion element.
This year, with the black pantyhose and tights invasion. I totally understand a woman's dilema on choosing the right brands that keep your legs warm and at the same time are resisant. Hanes and L'eggs are fantastic, and usually in the summer I wear ultra sheer quality hosiery either from those places. But they arer way to thin for winter so look for day sheer. they are still very sheer but made with more spandex in them rather than nylon so they stretch better and allow more warmth to stay on your legs.
Tights are a good idea too, black is basic, but make sure to get a comfortable and relaxing pair. I would suggest HUE brand or something else along that line. You can play with colors also. Say maybe a black dress with bright pink hose or even another color with some black peep toe heels, which are totally in fashion. Nylons sometimes tend to be a bit more itchy and you really have to spend to get a good quality pair. Nude tights are also good, they cover any blemishes and still make your leggs look great.
I recommend Silkies Toasty Tights. Very sheer, a bit on the expensive side (especially for Silkies), but I have several pair and like them. L'eggs makes great silky tights for the winter. and those women who are looking for a specifically more sheer look. Hanes Alive or L'eggs Sheer Energy Active Support are my # 1 and 2 choices for pantyhose year round for support, but they also have at least 30% spandex in the leg. That gives more durability and insulation for warmth. Trust me, these 2 styles are very sheer looking. They do give off a shiny appearance though, so if you wish for a more matte appearance, go with Donna Karan Hydrating pantyhose. Between 20 and 30% spandex and very unnoticeable.
Truth be told, there are no rules in choosing hosiery at all. You just should wear what you feel comfortable with and lok good in, which is always possible since in today's world there is a wide choice of brands and patterns. Some ladies say pantyhose are definitely better than tights and stockings. Why bother with these things. Tan or skin colored pantyhose always goes and depending on the outfit very sheer black or barely black is also good. When you go for good quality and avoid the one dollar stores or the local supermarket, and are not afraid to spend a bit of well worth money you are bound to find something fantastic. And it is good you'll be starting wearing them again.
I think there are so many new choices compared to even a few years ago and if you play around a little bit with different brands, fabrics, and styles you will find something you like. Dark tights are always in vogue, a sheer pantyhose in black or nude always works. I say play with colors and see what you like....no rules.
