Dress and Tights: The Eternal Winter Dilemma

Pairing dress and tights is probably one of the most difficult autumn / winter dilemmas to manage for girls and women (fashionable women in general) in reference to clothes. In winter, the problem is more recurrent as the years go on, especially after some show women have openly declared saying 'no' to wearing tights. Too bad that the mere mortals have to contend with cold and not with the lights of a TV studio, as it happens to celebrities. What are the benefits of wearing the tights in the winter? And what are their disadvantages? How to choose the right stockings and tights for Fall wear or for any occasion? How to solve the dilemma between dress and tights? Let us briefly examine the various points:

Dress and tights are  garments often used by women and,  some TV programs do not sponsor hosiery, while in others  do and this has  influenced the fashion of tights over the years. In the famous series Sex and the City Carrie and company never wear tights, and because the clothes they wear will not fit at all well, and because in the Big Apple where the serial is set anything goes and no one will ever notice that you have not worn hosiery despite the temperature is below freezing! On the other hand, the female protagonists of  Gossip Girl seem to love donning dress and tights, especially lace, making their outfits fashionable to girls from every corner of the planet.

The choice of wearing dress and tights also depends on the event we are going to; whether it is a business meeting it is natural to think that the dress should be accompanied by a nice pair of opaque tights, or at least lace tights. If you were going to a gala instead it would be advisable not to wear stockings and opt for the open-toe high-heel sandals. An elegant gown made of a lightweight fabric will and will not stand well with tights, whatever type it is.
