If You Cannot Stand the Pantyhose, Why are You Wearing High Heels?

High Heels
Many women, myself not being one of them, do not wear pantyhose or stockings anymore. The preferred way of dressing is to go bare-legged. Every girl has a right to wear what she does or does not want to. When I have conversations with the bare-legged females here are the reasons for not wearing pantyhose anymore:

They itch
They sag
They make my toes curl in
They are hot
My legs cannot breathe

Now being a woman who wears them frequently (five to six times a week), I get a lot of feedback, usually unsolicited, from other women about their attitudes about pantyhose. After hearing and reading what everyone has to say, I have the following observations.

If you are wearing cheap pantyhose, or worse the deadly combination of cheap pantyhose that are too small, I can understand the above commentary. There are plenty of brands that do not itch, sag, curl your toes and feel comfortable against your skin as long as you buy the correct size.

But better brands are not the major point going on here. All of the commentary is based on comfort. We want to look good yet still be comfortable. If this is the case, why are the same women not throwing their high heels away?

Do not get me wrong, there is still plenty of complaining about the heels, but we are still wearing them. I own many pairs of heels. The vast majority are three inches or higher. My standard everyday height is a three inch heel. In fact when I do into work with a two inch heel, I get asked why I am wearing flats.

If I spend any significant portion of my day on my feet, every single pair of my heels will cause pain in my feet at the end of the day. Many not much at all. Some quite a bit. Now I am not on my feet all day so most days it is not a big deal. Let's day it is a Saturday night and I am going out dancing. I will be on my feet all night in four inch heels then. That will hurt.

Every day and every weekend, I am not they only girl in the same dilemma. The bottom line is high heels hurt. There is no way around it. Not only do they hurt, they start changing your foot. Every see the ladies with the big toe pointing inward? High heels baby.

If I was given the choice of high heels that cause pain vs. pantyhose that itch, I would still choose pantyhose that itch. A better question would be high heels that cause pain vs. pantyhose that feel nice. The pantyhose still feel nice.

No one is asking that question though. The point is if it all about comfort, we should be choosing pantyhose over heels.

No do not get me wrong, I have not plans to get rid of any heels or to stop wearing them. In fact I just bought two pair. They look sexy and I like that. But for the women who do not wear pantyhose, it is not all about our comfort. If it were you need to start wearing flats.

We are influenced a lot more by the fashion mags than anything else on this matter. As for me, I like wearing my pantyhose and my heels. I will continue doing both.
